Scenes from this week

Scott had to go to NY and DC this week so it was just me and girls. It was a bit rough because Nora had a tough time kicking the flu, and then Evie started to come down with the bug too! Here's a few snaps of our adventures this week. She loves her bananas! It's a mess, but it lets me shower in peace! Nora was super fussy on Wednesday and would only nap on me. My own personal heater! Getting a back scratch from big sister. Evie hasn't been feeling well so she wrapped herself up in Mom's warm robe!

New haircut

Poor little sleepy kid - Evie kept dozing off when she got her hair cut on Sunday. I think this may have been the cause of her crooked haircut. This little girl's head kept flopping over! The poor lady at the salon was trying to hold Evie's head up and cut at the same time!

Science fun!

This is a very late post, but my pics are too cute not to share... Evie was invited to my friend's daughter's 6 year old "mad science" birthday party. I wasn't sure whether Evie would enjoy the party since she tends to be shy with new kids and my attempts at explaining science in preparation to the party was pretty sad. I'm happy to report that Evie loved the party. The "mad scientist" who was the teacher looked like a college kid who had no idea how to manage 12 screaming kids but I don't think any of them even paid attention when his tricks went awry. He showed them lots of things including how electricity works, making different color fire, how to make fireworks, and how to make cotton candy. Evie didn't pick up on the SCIENCE behind any of these experiments, but she sure had fun watching or doing the experiments themselves. The start of the party - some skepticism and lots of concentration on what the Mad Scientist was saying.

Garage tricks

The one nice thing about having a large garage is having space for the girls to play in when it's raining out. Evie gets to ride her bike, Nora learns how to scooter around, Daddy plays with his wood machines and Mommy gets time to cook dinner. Everyone wins!

Snuggles

We know it's a ploy to stay up longer, but how can you say no when this sweet girl ask "can we snuggle for a while before bed"?  That's followed by a "move closer to the wall, I need space."

Baby's first gelato

Chocolate and pistachio, at the new Nutty Squirrel Gelato in Phinney. It's probably a good thing we don't live around the corner anymore or else we'd be there all the time!
