black and blue

Poor little Nora! This little munchkin was running after her sister when we were out on a walk yesterday and tripped. She banged her face up pretty good, but thankfully it wasn't worse.  A big ole egg! she didn't like me trying to clean those scratches  breakfast thus morning! Lots of jam on her face to match her war wounds!

Orcas house updates

I'll write another post later about our fun weekend up in Orcas, but for now, here's a few photos of how the house is coming along! Scott, Margie and Rick have been moving everything in and we're probably 95% done. There are still some odds and ends to do inside the house (like painting doors, putting up a shower door, etc) and lots to be done in the front yard. But so far, everything is looks great!  Look at the huge trash pile! Oh, hello, Scott! That's the window from the master upstairs. Saturday morning cartoons in the Living Room. Evie turns 5!

Happy birthday, Evie mcEversons!! I know your birthday was last Thursday, but I'm going to pretend it was today because you had your 5 year doc checkup today. :) You are an amazing little girl and I'm so proud to be able to say I'm your mama. At 5, you are as chatty as ever, whether its narrating little scenes when you play with your dolls or starting conversations the minute you wake up. I get a kick out of the way you hula and shake your hips when you dance, especially to your favorite song Taylor Swift's Shake It Off. You are a kind and very involved big sister. You like to give Nora kisses, you (mostly) don't mind share all your snacks and toys with her and are always watching out for her. On Sunday, you didn't want to go on a playdate without Nora because you were worried she would miss you! You still scare easily - you made us turn off Ratatouille because it was scary. It was slightly exasperating but truthfully, I'm glad you are so innocent and

Post dinner walk

Now that the sun is setting so late, it means we have time to enjoy the outdoors after dinner! Problem with Seattle weather though is it's rarely clear enough to go out but thankfully, we had a few days here and there where it's been possible. Yesterday, I convinced Evie to go on a walk after dinner while Scott put Nora to bed. But, the only way I could get Evie to go was if I let her have an ice cream sandwich on our walk! She ate it surprisingly slow, then ran the entire way back and fell asleep pretty quickly that night too. We may have to do this more often. :)

Maui, Part Elua (2)

As luck would have it, the T-Mobile awards trip to Maui coincided with the dates Way, Kevin and Ian (and their Nana and Papa) were going to be there! They arrived the day after the T-Mobile trip was scheduled to end so how could we not extend our trip so we can keep with tradition and do our yearly Hawaii vacation together as a big family?! We checked out of the Sheraton on Monday, rented a car, and headed down to Wailea where we rented a condo at Ekolu Village for the next 5 nights. It was so nice to have more space to spread out plus a kitchen of our own to make meals and have snacks. One of the biggest bummers about sharing a room with little ones on vacation is it means having to go to bed pretty much when the kids do. On the bright side, we were able to get tons of sleep while we were at the Sheraton because we were on the same sleep schedule as the girls. Anyway, at the condo it was a nice to be able to put the girls down for bed and then sit out on the lanai with a glass of wi

Maui Wowie

This is a very long overdue post! It took me a while to put up all our Hawaii pictures because I was playing around with several different photo sharing websites. In the end, I decided to go back to using Picasa/Google Photos. Anyway, it's been just under a month since we've come back from Maui and boy, do we miss the Hawaiian sunshine! The trip started off a bit rocky in that Alaska wasn't able to seat the 4 of us all together so Scott go to sit with Evie while Nora and I sat together in the back of the plane. Thankfully, both girls were pretty good on the flight. Happy and on our way to Hawaii! We weren't planning on going to Hawaii this year, but lucky me, I won a trip to Maui through work! It's an annual award that's given to top employees - you get nominated by peers and then the leadership team selects who gets to go on an (almost) all-expense paid trip to Maui for you and a guest for 4 nights at the Sheraton Kaanapali. T-Mobile did a fantastic job
