Line em up!

I remember being surprised several years ago when I saw someone in Evie's class lining her toys up neatly for play. I know lining toys up isn't remarkable, but didn't occur to me until I saw her play like that that Evie didn't do it. I expressed this to Scott and while I don't think it's bad or good, it was just interesting to me back then because of the different ways little kids' minds work. It's even more interesting to me now because lo and behold, Nora is someone who likes to line up her toys! I've actually never seen Evie do this ever and Nora does this quite often. It makes me wonder what this says about their personalities and natural instincts.

Paint Date

Ever since Evie painted us a ceramics tile at one of her school field trips, we've been thinking going to a Color-Me-Mine type place could be a good rainy day activity to do with the girls. We finally went this past weekend for the first time and I learned two things: 1) It takes a LONG time to paint because you have to do multiple coats 2) Painting only holds the attention of a 2.5 year old for about 5 minutes. Those two things do not get along so Scott ended up staying with Evie to paint her cheetah while me, my Mom and Dad all took turns trying to entertain Nora by walking around the mall. Oh well, it was fun for about the 5 minutes where we all got to sit down together! We'll get to pick up the finished pieces in about a week and will let you know how they look! Look at my masterpiece! Trying to make the Cheetah as life like as possible.

Grrrrrr!

Snowmaggedon!

It's been a week since Snowmaggedon and we're sad there's only little piles of snow left on the ground. It started snowing during the Superbowl and didn't let up until Monday afternoon so we all had a snow day this week. We probably got around 12-18 inches of snow, which is pretty rare here. Even Seattle proper got a few inches! It was bad timing but I had to travel for work on Monday, and the uber pickup wouldn't (couldn't!) come down into the neighborhood. Scott was nice enough to carry my luggage up the street to meet the driver and then carry my snowboots back home since I wasn't about to lug those things in my luggage! Pancake breakfast to get ready for snow play! so quiet and white. Subaru covered in snow. This was after Scott already cleared snow off it the night before. We saw some brave souls try to drive in this and get stuck. Snow up to Scott's ankles.  As usual, Nora hated the snow. Our front light is
