Blueberry picking

It's pretty rad that we have 2 blueberry farms right here in Bellevue. At only $1.50/lb, it's a great way to spend a few hours and getting cheap berries to boot! We went with our pals Vivienne and Winston (and baby Cecily!) and the kids had so much fun picking the fruit. Evie and Vivienne were concocting recipes (something about cinnamon blueberry marshmallow smores) and could not stop gabbing with each other the entire time.  Pick only the blue ones, guys! Up in the air

When I fly, the flight path usually go south or maybe even southeast, but very rarely does it ever go due east. I got a treat a few weeks ago when I flew to Idaho for work and the sunny, clear weather and a window seat gave me a great view to our house! There's Seattle! Can you spot the Space Needle or our Boat? Turning east now - there's Lake Washington and the bridge to Bellevue! There's our Neighborhood!

Sweets for my Sweetie!

Nora has a sweet tooth like no other. This girl LOOOOOOVES candy, chocolate and pretty much anything sweet. Lately, she's been on a cherry kick and takes little bites all around the pit. It's pretty cute.  Cherries and Cheesy smiles Because she loves sweets so much, we've been using candy as a reward for when she goes in the potty. The minute she's done, she makes a beeline for the pantry where she drags over a stool to get up to where the candy basket is. She doesn't even wait to get her undies back on! Here's the little scamperoo digging around for her treat: Looking for skittles!

The toothfairy visited our house!

Yesterday, Evie lost her first tooth! It came out while she was chomping on some chicken at Chipotle last night. She was SO proud that it came out and she says it didn't hurt at all! See the hole? She stuck the tooth in her pocket for safe keeping to bring home but when we got home after swim, we couldn't find it! Scott and I were frantically trying to find it but surprisingly, she wasn't upset. She pulled me aside and said very quietly: "You can still give me money."  !!! I said "What? Why would Mommy give you money and not the Toothfairy?" and she just looked at me and said "Nevermind." She's a smart cookie though and knew to still act pretty excited when she found a dollar under her pillow this morning.

Kindergarten graduation!

Sorry, this is an old post but since I was looking at my pics, I realized I never shared these! Our big girl Evie graduate from Kindergarten a few weeks ago. She had a great run at Newport Children's School - she loves the friends that she's made and really enjoyed all of the teachers she's had. We've liked them too! We're happy that we kept her there for one more year because I think she's learned a lot and is a much more confident little girl now, ready to take on first grade at a new school. The teachers had nothing but nice things to say about Evie when I went for the last parent-teacher conference of the year. They told me she's a bright, fun, easy-going girl who is friends with everyone in the class and not afraid to raise her hand in class to answer questions. I hope that continues next year! In Kindergarten, she mastered writing all of her letters and numbers (both upper and lower), can read pretty simple books (Level 1 and 2), is attempting to do

That time I got pulled over by a cop for speeding....

Cop: I'll let you go with a warning this time. I see you have 2 little ones in the back there and I don't want them to be afraid of the police. Me: Thank you. Cop: <to the girls> hey there! Do you guys want some stickers? <to me> Here, I'll give these stickers to you to hand to them. Have a good day. Nora (yelling, as the cop walks away): Momma, GO FAST!
