Springtime in the garden

I love all the flowers that come to life in spring!  Dogwood tree in our backyard is looking good this year! Forget the name of these but they were so many pretty shades of pink! I love Irises. I'm gonna have to plant some in Bellevue.

Happy birthday, Scott

We celebrated Scott's birthday over the holiday weekend up at the Orcas house and I think he enjoyed his day! It was a little more lazaroni that we originally planned for - we explored low tide in the morning, then played with water guns in the backyard that afternoon, had dinner at a fancy pizza place in town, and then capped the evening with a game of frisbee before catching the sunset at home. Happy happy birthday, Scott!!  Does anyone know what this is? We dug it up from the sand. Purple sea star! Scott scooped up a jellyfish Clamming? Afternoon rest while the girls run around. Dinner Menu at Hogstone Pizza. I really liked the Green Garlic pizza. We tried the interesting Rhubarb, Goat Yogurt and Fir dessert. I thought it was good! Daisy chain crown for queen Evie!   Grammie snuggles Not to be outdone by Evie... Happy birthday, Scott! Daddy tickles Getting ready for the sunset Ah, there it is! Pretty

The Mountain is Out

Seattlelites like to say "the mountain is out" when the clouds part and you can see Mt Rainier towering in the distance. It's really a stunning mountain and I got to see it up close when I was flying to Florida for work last week. I think this is the closest I've ever seen it from a plane. Almost looks like you can reach out and touch it!

Flower time

Last year we went around this time to the Rhodendron Garden and really enjoyed it! We headed back to see what other flowers might be in bloom since we missed a lot of the rhodies last time. We didn't research it well enough though because we missed the rhodies again, but at least we were able to see the beautiful Himalayan Blue Poppy!  Snack break in the gazebo Evie found a little hat! Nora and Daddy's hats were a little more practical Evie found this gigantic, beautiful Rhody that was blooming Here's the Himalayan Blue Poppy! It was really pretty with the gradients of purple No purple on this one, and the light shining through is so neat! Another perspective of the poppy.

Oh Sunny Day!

Last weekend we had a beautiful sunny day. We celebrated by taking the boat out for the first time this year. The girls, as usual, had a blast and are already asking Scott when he can take them boat camping this summer.  Sweetness overload Waving to the kayakers passing by Watching the wake Happy camper

Cool sculpting

Evie has been having a lot of fun lately sculpting her eyebrows. She loves to use an old toothbrush to brush them up. Can you tell which eyebrow she did?
