Orcas Island, 2014

These old photos popped up in my Google photo feed this week! 4 years ago this week we were visiting Orcas Island for a little getaway. It's so much fun to look back at these photos and see how tiny and precious the girls were. Such fun memories! Here's the post for more fun down memory lane. Ferry to Orcas! Tea party

We had a ladies lunch this past weekend where Evie and I met up with our pals Steph and Vivienne for afternoon tea! We went to this charming little place called Queen Mary's, which lots of people have told me about before. It's small and tight and filled with tea tchotkes but somehow it also feels very cozy.  The girls loved their afternoon tea meal. What's not to like when you get to eat dessert first (a 3-scoop sorbet palate cleanser), your plate includes royal purple cotton candy and chocolate for dipping fruit, AND you get to wear a tiara the whole time? I didn't get afternoon tea - I opted for curry beef pasties from their lunch menu and while I thought it was really good, I will try their tea next time.  I can't wait to go back!  Friends forever! Trio of sorbet and a tea pot shaped cookie to start PB&J, purple cotton candy, brownie, and chocolate dipping sauce.   Evie got a fruit tea (forgot what kind) Colorful sugar bo

Harry Fan Club

Evie went to her first Harry Potter themed birthday party over the weekend (I was so jealous!) and one of the favors were super cute pins. She and I wore them today. It's so fun that we could wear them together. Nora could have worn one as well but she didn't want a boy pin because her choices were Harry, Ron and Hagrid. Which would you have chosen?

Throwback Tuesday

10 years ago today, we had just gotten back from our awesome last-minute cruise vacation to Europe and I wrote a decent recap of the trip . Ahhhh, seems like eons ago! I have been dreaming of doing one of these again with the girls. Hopefully we get to do one soon! Link to blog post is here .

Salmon Days!

It was the annual Salmon Days festival in Issaquah this past weekend and as usual, the girls got their face painted and loaded up on treats. Those are the 2 biggest draws of the festival for them! I personally like walking around the booths and trying all the food - I just wish there were more booths that had a salmon theme. This year, we also did a neat kids quiz/hunt that took them to 10 different stations to learn about Salmon, including passing by a volunteer dissecting one of those suckers!  Hello, kitty! This one was a called "a hint of Hawaii" With their Despicable Me blueberry popsicle and Strawberry popsicle. Dissecting the Salmon.
