Another weather non-event

The big bomb cyclone was billed as a historical event hitting the PNW and while I guess it was true, it hit off the coast and by the time the storm reached out, it was pretty much a non-event in my mind. We were traveling back by ferry on the day that the storm was supposed to hit so I was very nervous but I didn't need to be - the ferry was not at all crowded AND barely rocky. The waves were not anything bigger than what is typical this time of year, and that's to say you can't really feel anything on these big ferry boats. The girls did have fun standing out in the wind though, so we have some fun video of that! After we got off the boat, we grabbed tacos at a local joint that Nora looooooves and she scarfed down 4.5 tacos!  blowing in the wind Nora's happy place

Kubota Gardens

Last weekend we visited the Kubota Japanese gardens when Grammie and Grandpa were in town. This was a new-to-us garden and we were pretty impressed with it! It's very well maintained and much much bigger than we anticipated. We spent a good couple of hours wandering around and enjoying the fall colors. We would have explored more but stomachs were grumbling and people were getting tired. I will put this on my list of places to go back to in the spring when flowers start to bloom. Wide open spaces to run around Evie and Daddy The girls had fun finding "tunnels" Secret hideaway under the maple trees Lots of different pond and water features, this one below this pagoda lookout. more bridges Lots of bridges to walk across, and opportunities to spy koi fish. fall color We love when Grammie and Grandpa visit!

Mini date afternoon

The other day Evie and Nora went over to the Wong's house for Kinsey's birthday so Scott and I were able to sneak a little afternoon date in. We didn't have a ton of time because we were trying to also fit errands in so all we did was go on a little walk through one of the nearby trails. It was a new-to-me trail though so that's always fun, and we encountered very few folks on it. Despite the dreary weather it was nice to go out and enjoy a crisp Autumn afternoon.

Evie's new glasses

Our little Evie got new glasses! Scott went with her to pick them out and I think they got a really cute pair - the frame are blue but the sides have a pink flower pattern to them. Several people have already commented that she looks more like me now. What do you think?

naps

Nora still likes her naps. On weekends, she will often hide away somewhere quiet to rest a bit. The other day, she didn't even hide - she just fell asleep right out in the open! I'm glad she got my gene where I can fall asleep pretty easily most anywhere.
