Another super late post! I need to catch up!
For Mother's day, we headed out to Orcas Island with our friends Kingsey, Kingston and their parents in tow. I had some work stuff to attend to, so the dads headed out a day earlier with the kids and then the moms met them there late Friday evening. Apparently, us moms missed out on an epic day of traveling and exploring the island.
The next day, we again biked into town, did a quick jaunt up to Mt Constitution, and then to Buck Bay to pick up some fresh seafood to bring home to cook. For dinner, we did a surf-and-turf meal with freshly shucked oysters, grilled steaks, steamed clams, and fresh spot prawns. SO yummy!
We ended the weekend with a nice hike up Turtleback mountain before racing back to the ferry. It was a nice, sunny Mother's day weekend!

The kids biked around town. Apparently there were 4 different meltdowns, one from each kid. |

Then they explored low tide. |

And capped the day off with roasted marshmallows |

Nora and I sat upstairs of the Coop for lunch while the others ate at the Farmer's Market. |
