happy birthday, Evie!

Happy birthday, big girl Evie! She turned 4 yesterday and boy, was she a happy camper! She woke up super excited (I'll post the video soon!) and couldn't wait to celebrate the day. It was very cute that her response to anyone saying "happy birthday!" was to say happy birthday back. I guess without context, it's like saying Merry Christmas to someone, right?

At 4, Evie is pretty much the best kid ever. She has her whiny moments and is starting to talk back, but in general, she's an incredibly sweet, kind little girl. When we went shopping in Maui, she wanted to make sure we bought gifts for her cousins too so that everyone could have a toy. She's also constantly on the lookout for things that are dangerous for Nora and will scramble over to snatch choking hazards from Nora's hands.

Evie likes to sing and dance still and loves to read. She can recognize all the letters but can't write all of them yet. She likes to play pretend like having a picnic or restaurant. She loves her stuffies, with Lambie still taking the prime spot on her bed. She will rotate in her mermaids, Elsa and Anna (never Anna and Elsa) and her my little pony dolls too.

As a big sister, she dotes on Nora and is constantly trying to nuzzle, carry and play with her. She will lay down directly in Nora's way so that Nora has to crawl over her but she thinks it's fun. Sometimes we have to remind Evie to give Nora some personal space!

I couldn't be prouder of our little munchkin. I wish you all could be around Evie more because I know she'd brighten your day everyday just like she does for Scott and me!

Happy new year!!

Goodness, it's already 2025! It's been a really long time since we posted!  We had a very lazy new year. We flew back from LA on the evening of the 31st so spent the last remaining hours of 2024 cozying up on the couch and then fell asleep before it even hit midnight! On New Years day, we slept in, cleaned up the house and then did a quick hike the next day. All in all, a good start to the year! Nora's new blanket hoodie. Cold and muddy trails. We're not in LA anymore! We hiked the Primrose trail that follows Coal Creek.

We picked up our finished creations from the glass blowing class we took a few weeks ago and I think they came out great! Can you tell who made which one? Nora's sunset pumpkin, May's bluebird and Evie's snow pumpkin.

Trick or Treat!

Halloween this year was the quietest one we've had in 13 years! This was the first one we had without the girls! Both of them went to friends houses and left Scott and I to man the door. It was very quiet at home because the doorbell rang only 4x the entire night, but at least both girls said they had a lot of fun despite it being rainy and dreary out. Thankfully, they have finally learned to not trust Seattle weather in October and chose warm(ish) costumes!
