Valentine Decorations

Valentine's day came to our house early. Evie has been making heart and swirl crafts all day today to decorate her room. She was so excited, she even went to sleep in her bed tonight so she can look at the decorations! Not sure what these are called, but they're cool!

Testing out the new kiddo wagon

Last weekend we went for a walk to the store/Starbucks/park using the new wagon. The kids had fun but it was a little challenging on the hills. It will be the perfect beach gear hauler on orcas. Nora fell asleep in the most awkward positions! She is actually sound asleep in this position And another two hours sleeping in the garage

Sick, again

I drove the girls to school on Wednesday only to find when I went to get Nora out of the car seat that she had thrown up! She had whined a little on the way to school, but nothing too concerning. In fact, Evie thought she had fallen asleep! Needless to say, I had to turn straight back around and stay home with her that day. People weren't kidding when they said that baby #2 is sick all the time (compared to Baby #1) because they bring home regular germs plus pick up any germs #1 brings home that they haven't gotten immune to yet. Poor Nora is sick all the time! The upside of staying at home with her? I got to hang out with a very snuggly little girl: Bagel snack in my lap. Snuggles and more snuggles By Saturday, she was back to her regular mischievous self. Thanks for the pretty dress, Auntie Samantha and Auntie Vikki!

Orcas Eakas Weekend

We did a quick trip to Orcas Island this weekend to check up on the house. For those who haven't been before, Orcas is just far enough away that it's a bit of a trek to get there but since there's a ferry ride involved, at least you aren't stuck in your car the whole time. It's a 2 hour drive to the ferry landing and then about an hour on the ferry, and then another 20-30 minutes on the island. We left the house at 7:30am on Saturday, took the 10:15 ferry and sat down for lunch in Eastsound (Orcas Island's quaint little downtown) close to noon. After lunch, we headed over to the house and we got a nice surprise in that the windows have been put in. It's really shaping up now! Scott and I realized we have a hard time imagining a space so it's making us more excited about the house now that we can actually see it. The front of the house Great room windows looking out over the water. Great room windows looking back at the street. My an

Someone doesn't like hikes...

And I won't tell you who. I'll just let you watch this awesome video: She cried for about 10 minutes and then bucked up and walked happily for another hour. We tried out a new trail nearby that wasn't very good though. Oh well - it was a nice but cold day for our "hike"!

Christmas, Part 3

Off to PoPo and Goong Goong's house we went for Christmas dinner and a week of shenanigans with cousins! The bummer is that we were having so much fun that I forgot to whip out my camera and take pictures! Evie and Nora had so much fun seeing Ian, Quinn and Cade almost everyday and climbing up and down the new bunk bed. Way and I took a morning to meet Samantha for a "birthday" lunch at Sugarfish. It's a newish sushi restaurant chain in LA that even our moms have been wanting to try so they crashed our outing and came along with us. The food was really really good and the price pretty reasonable (for sushi)! Big ole Christmas tree! Started with the Ahi. YUM. We also had our annual pizza and movie night at Kin's house and this year, the kids chose to watch Toy Story. The kids were glued to the television (and so were some of the adults!) but about half way through, the tykes got scared so we had to turn off the movie. Surprisingly, they barely cared th

Christmas, Part 2

Once we made it Grammie and Grandpa's house, it was smooth sailing! The girls LOVED the sunshine and we took as many opportunities as we could to play outside and soak up some Vitamin D!  Hard at work picking oranges for a snack. Taking a tractor tour around the Orchard. We walked to a nearby park and tried out the see-saw. Zonked out after the park and ready for a nap! We are starting a tradition of baking Christmas cookies and Evie once again loved helping Grammie make these treats. This year, we made Gingerbread cookies. No need for sprinkles this time, but she liked cutting out little baby Jesus' just the same.  On Christmas Eve morning, we took our annual walk through town and then horsed around some more outside before dinner. Seattle supposedly got some snow showers so we were very happy to bask in the sunshine!  All smiles in my Christmas red! Matching Christmas dresses! Playing outside with treasures found in the garden.
