I caved...

So this happened yesterday ...

I have been weary about letting Evie get her nails done because I think she's too young, but we got talked into it and did a little girls outing with Blakely and her mom. I kept it as a surprise for Evie so she was confused when we walked into the nail salon. She didn't really understand what it was until Blakely took her to the wall with all the nail polish bottles. It took Evie forever to pick and she ended up with a purple sparkly color that ended up showing pretty dark after a few coats. As you can see, the girls had such fun!

Aftewards, we went to the Kriegler's house for a pizza and jammie jam party. It was a pretty fun night!

Happy new year!!

Goodness, it's already 2025! It's been a really long time since we posted!  We had a very lazy new year. We flew back from LA on the evening of the 31st so spent the last remaining hours of 2024 cozying up on the couch and then fell asleep before it even hit midnight! On New Years day, we slept in, cleaned up the house and then did a quick hike the next day. All in all, a good start to the year! Nora's new blanket hoodie. Cold and muddy trails. We're not in LA anymore! We hiked the Primrose trail that follows Coal Creek.

1 week checkup

We took Nora to her one week check up today and guess what? We have a porker on our hands! She weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs. 5.5 oz. That's 2.5 oz more than her birth weight! They want the baby to be back at birth weight within 2 weeks so she beat that milestone pretty handily. Hooray! So far, she's been better than Evie at eating (she doesn't take nearly as long, although she falls asleep VERY often) but she's not as good as Evie at pooping. Poor thing always seems to have tummy issues - she's very squirmy and fussy when she doesn't burp or poop. The doc doesn't think it's a big problem though since she still has lots of wet diapers, but we'll have to keep a better eye on it now. We'll have another doctor check up (with shots!) next week.

"Big Girls" trip!

Evie and I had such a blast visiting Ian and Owen this past weekend in San Francisco! It was the first time she and I took a "big girls" trip away from Daddy and Nora for so long and while we missed those two, it was great for us to have 1 on 1 time together.  Anyway, our trip was a too-short weekend getaway, but we packed it in with yummy food, a sweet-filled trip to the Jelly Belly factory, LOTS of lego time, and lots of cuddling time with Owen! Little baby O was such a cutie pie - he was so good during our trip. He only cried when he was tired and hungry and he didn't seem scared of me at all! He let me hold and snuggle with him - I've forgotten how tiny but how sweet little babies are. He also had several expressions that made him look so much like his big brother. I can't wait to see his little face again! Bouncing with excitement on our flight down to SF. In line at the Jelly Belly factory. SO MANY BEANS! All waiting to be packed and ship...
