More knitting and crochet projects

We bought a set of Wooble animal crochet kits many moons ago and I finally set aside some time to do them. The package says it's for beginners and can be finished in a few hours. Uhhhhh..... my first one took way more than a few hours. Granted, I was trying to watch tv at the same time so may have been distracted but it took me a while to get a hang of it. Here's the finished project!

Meet Kiki! Her beak looks more like a rose and she's a bit lopsided but we love her quirkiness.

The second went MUCH faster. I did this over a few days but in all probably took about 2 or 3 hours.

This is JoJo the rabbit. She looks a bit like an easter egg with ears, no?

My little buddy knitting next to me was Nora. She finally finished her hat that she made from a loom kit she got for Christmas. Cute, eh?

Happy new year!!

Goodness, it's already 2025! It's been a really long time since we posted!  We had a very lazy new year. We flew back from LA on the evening of the 31st so spent the last remaining hours of 2024 cozying up on the couch and then fell asleep before it even hit midnight! On New Years day, we slept in, cleaned up the house and then did a quick hike the next day. All in all, a good start to the year! Nora's new blanket hoodie. Cold and muddy trails. We're not in LA anymore! We hiked the Primrose trail that follows Coal Creek.

Little hands

Evie made me a cute little jewelry tray for Mothers Day back in kindergarten and I've been using it to put little knicknacks like hair ties. I don't know what material it was made out of but it's been slowly crumbling away until Scott finally got fed up with the mess and threw it in the trash. Before he did though, we took a photo of her old hand compared to now. Look how little she used to be! sniff sniff.

Trick or Treat!

Halloween this year was the quietest one we've had in 13 years! This was the first one we had without the girls! Both of them went to friends houses and left Scott and I to man the door. It was very quiet at home because the doorbell rang only 4x the entire night, but at least both girls said they had a lot of fun despite it being rainy and dreary out. Thankfully, they have finally learned to not trust Seattle weather in October and chose warm(ish) costumes!
